Henry Rupert Wilhoit Jr.

Henry Rupert Wilhoit Jr. is a senior judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Wilhoit was born on February 11, 1935 in Ashland, Kentucky. He received his law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1960. Wilhoit worked at a private practice in Grayson, Kentucky from 1960 to 1981. During these years, he also served city attorney for Grayson (1962 to 1966) and as the county attorney for Carter County (1966-1970). In 1981, President Ronald Reagan nominated Wilhoit to serve as a judge on the Eastern District Court, to a seat vacated by Judge H. David Hermansdorfer. The Senate confirmed his nomination on September 25, 1981. Wilhoit assumed senior status on December 31, 2000.
