Robert Wier
Judge, Eastern District of Kentucky, 2018-
Robert Earl Wier is a judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Wier was born in 1967 in Harlan, Kentucky. He received her bachelor's degree in 1989 from the University of Kentucky and his law degree in 1992 from UK College of Law. Following law school, Wier clerked for the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr. on the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He then practiced law in Lexington, Kentucky until 2006, when he was named a magistrate judge for the Eastern District Court. In 2018, President Donald J. Trump nominated him to serve as a district judge for the Eastern District Court, to a seat vacated by Judge Amul Roger Thapar. The Senate confirmed his nomination on June 5, 2018.
