Steven S. Reed served as United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky from 1999 to 2001. He was the first African-American in the role in Kentucky history.

In this interview, Reed talks about his experiences as an assistant United States Attorney in the Western District from 1993 to 1999. He explains how he developed cases as a federal prosecutor, partnered with law enforcement agencies, and handled the sentencing phase of criminal cases. Reed also recalls going before various Western District judges, including Judge Ed Johnstone and Judge John Heyburn II.
